Check out my new Rudall & Rose #3036
Well I finely broke down and bought a Rudall & Rose for my very own! After restoring one recently that is just a tad older, I fell in love with this model.
I picked it up yesterday, restored it, to it's original beauty. Save two cracks, it was virtually in new condition. The original pads all seal well, I just threaded the tenons and it played all the way down to low C right off the bat!
The Patent Head was a lot of fun, had to completely disassemble it, repair the cracks and reassemble... The Patent head mechanism had the original leather bushings, that I have not seen in other Patent heads.
The tuning is pretty good with the flute, also. The tuning slide only needs to be pulled out 14 mm.
I think it is a keeper!

There's just something about them....
I respect people's privilege to hold their beliefs, whatever those may be (within reason), but respect the beliefs themselves? You gotta be kidding!

Very nice flute - nice original box too. May I ask where you found it/purchased it?

- Tell us something.: in two words, Rudall & Rose. but since a minimum of 100 characters is required, I should list a number of makers I found extremely interesting… I don't even know how much are 100 characters...

Re: Check out my new Rudall & Rose #3036
as it is almost identical to my #3830... well... CONGRATS!
those flute are not just beautiful wooden pieces, but they are the good reason
why all the other ones are named after them!
You can now let your soul speak properly :- DDD
(btw I love some of the #5000 range as well)
2 advices:
add oil to the Eb plug will boost all your bottom notes,
my original pads felt great and I kept them for a while,
than I tried to change all of them and the flute is now wonderful!

"Nice cocus R&R (RUDALL ROSE / No. 15 PIAZZA / COVENT GARDEN / LONDON / 3036) with patent head here. Crack through embouchure but fixable surely, cracked on barrel too, high pitched - priced accordingly at 2.330 sterling = 2.669 euros = 3800 downgraded US dollars. lots of pics:"

Can I come borrow it and break it in? I'm all done with my yearly illnesses and am quite ready to do some hard playing!
