Riverdance - Celtic Woman

Post by walrii »

For years we've made do in north Texas with our annual St. Patrick's Day celebration and the occasional appearance by The Killdares. In the next few months, we're getting Riverdance on their farewell tour and Celtic Woman. Sadly, my budget will only support one concert. What say you all - cultural icon on their farewell tour or loving ladies singing lovely?
The Walrus

What would a wild walrus whistle if a walrus could whistle wild?

The second mouse may get the cheese but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.

Last chance to see this, I'd go.

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

Since our own Chiffer Tommy Martin (tompipes) is the piper with the Celtoid Gals, maybe you could bribe him into giving you backstage access. But you'll have to bring your own eye-sticks.

Me - I'd put the money towards some shiny new whistle. But if I really had to choose, I'd go for the dancers...

Best wishes.

Well, we went to Celtic Woman last night by default. Riverdance was on the wrong night and we couldn't make that one. Celtic Woman was well worth it. It's not really trad, though they do a number a trad tunes and Tommy does a wonderful job on the pipes, flute and whistle. However, it is an awesome SHOW. Sound, sound effects, lighting, costumes, choreography and music all mesh together in a wonderful show. We had a great time and I'll definitely see them again if I get the chance.

Now I just have to catch up with the Riverdance tour.
