Hey I'm a piper with some borderpipes in A and smallpipes in D and I'm always trying to find tunes that I can play at sessions that fiddle players and other musicians will know, my border pipes play C natural nicely so tunes with that work for me as well.
I play Jenny Dang the Weaver, The Jolly Beggerman, Silver Spear, High Road to Linton, Merrily Kissed the Quakers Wife, The Clumsy Lover, Gie's a Glass of Water and Andrew Renwick's Ferret, those oftem seem to work but I'd love to add some more tunes that will go over well at sessions,
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
-Spencer

Irish sessions? Scottish? English?
You probably know that the most common Irish keys are GMaj and DMaj and their related Dorian and Mixolydian modes. So any tunes in those that you can fit on your pipes (with folding if necessary) may work at Irish sessions. Tolerance for AMaj tunes varies by session.
If you go to thesession.org Members -> Tunebook

you'll find the "greatest hits" on the first few pages.
