Lend me your ears!

Post by Redwolf »

I'm wondering if some of you can help me with something.

Go to this page:

http://www.calvarysantacruz.org/music/default.asp#

Scroll down to "Listen to Calvary's Choir."

Pick any of the sound samples and play it.

Let me know if you can hear it, and what browser you're using.

I've had people say that they can't listen to the files, and since I've had no trouble with either Firefox or IE, I'm trying to figure out what the problem is.

Thanks!

I'm listening to "This is the Day the Lord has made." and "The Lord is my Shepherd." I'm using Internet Explorer on Windows Media Player. I like the Lord is my Shepherd better.

It's a wonderful piece. Anglican chant is lovely, and this is one of the loveliest pieces in that repertoire.

You can hear both, though, yes? I've had some people experience difficulty with listening to the files.

I listened to all 4, although I only listened to a small clip of the last one. That was my least favorite from what I heard. My Church growing up did a lot of chanting.

Also had no problem with either Firefox or IE using media player. And I have No-Script running in Firefox, so it's locked down rather tight as far as Java and other plug-ins.

I don't think an average browser will have a problem as long as there is good bandwidth.

All four tracks loud and clear on Firefox, XP and Windows media Player.
Impressive choir.

Works here on a Mac with both Safari and Firefox.

Very good singing of some tough literature.

Thanks! We're small (only 15 of those in the picture are singers, and of those, only about 13 are there every Sunday), but we're lucky in that we have a wonderful choir master with high expectations, as well as several first-class musicians (not something you can always count on in a volunteer choir!). As far as I know, we're the only choir in the Santa Cruz area that sings the classical Anglican cathedral repertoire.

It's good to know that the files are working for someone other than me. When I heard that some people where having trouble, I was concerned that I'd botched something somehow. I recently had to re-upload the files, because I'd foolishly allowed my fileden account to go too long without a log-in.

Thanks again, all!
