The Pipers' Gathering - Last Call

Post by MarkS »

Online registration for the August 14th-17th Pipers' Gathering in Killington VT closes on July 31st (July 29th if you want a t-shirt – see below). After July 31st, registration will be at the event.

Register now and be sure to reserve a room at the Killington Grand Hotel at the conference rates. Booking information for the Killington Grand and nearby locations is available on our web site at:

<http://www.pipersgathering.org/LodgingGrand.shtml> and

<http://www.pipersgathering.org/LodgingOther.shtml>

All of these rooms can be booked by calling 1-800-282-9955. Please be sure to ask for one of these rooms from our "block" of rooms for The Pipers' Gathering in order to get the better conference rates. It is helpful to all of us that you book one of these rooms, as the rates for using the convention facilities are based on us utilizing these rooms. Do not book through the Killington website, as you will not get our conference rates and the room will not help fulfill our committment.

T-SHIRT PRE-ORDERS

This year we are basing our t-shirt production run on pre-order numbers, and we'll have a very limited selection on hand at the event. So if you are interested in a t-shirt, please pre-order with your registration no later than July 29th, as we need to place our order with the shirt vendor by the end of the month. This year's shirt logo was designed by our own Dawn Littlepage, and can be viewed here:

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are still available with Sarah Blair (Fiddle), Eamonn Dillon (Uilleann), Julian Goodacre (English), EJ Jones (Border/SSP), Ellan MacPhee (SSP), and Andrea Mori (Whistle)

FOOD IN THE SNOWSHED LODGE

We are indebted to Helen Grynkiewicz for offering to provide coffee and refreshments for sale throughout the day at the café to the side of the concert hall. Enjoy coffee, cookies and muffins for breakfast and delicious sandwiches for lunch – thank you Helen!

MEET & GREET

Friday evening at 7 will be the time to catch up with old friends and make new friends in the the Snowshed Lodge, across the walking bridge behind the Killington Grand. The Registration table will be open then, so you won't have to stand in a line on Saturday morning. Please bring instruments with you and make some music. There's plenty of room for anyone that wants to play.

PIPES FOR AUCTION

This year we’ll be auctioning a half set of Michael Vignoles Uilleann pipes. As in years past, this will be a silent auction. The pipes will be available for inspection, and bids can be placed at the registration desk from Saturday morning until the close of the auction at 5:30 on Sunday afternoon. The auction winner will be announced during the Sunday evening concert.

That's it for the July update. We look forward to seeing you in Killington in just a few weeks!
