Because images are hosted by Tripod? I think they don't like remote imbedding of images.

I couldn't see the image either, but try this link:

That should get you to the image.

Yup. Almost none of the free web services (Tripod, Geocities, etc.) will let you do remote linking anymore. It's a serious bummer. Photos can always be linked from places like Snapfish, or other photo warehousing services, but other images or midi files can't.

Copy the shortcut, point your browser to http://www.tripod.com, once it loads, paste the shortcut into the address bar and then it'll let you load the image.

This bypasses their "external link" checking.

I think what Redwolf was talking about is that these sites won't deliver images linked to documents residing in other domains. When the free page providers first started out many folks with limited storage space (or bandwidth) for their own web pages were opening free accounts just to store images, then linking to those images from the documents on their own websites. That way you could get unlimited amounts of storage space (and bandwidth!) without all the popups and watermarks cluttering your site.

Surprise, surprise, they don't let you do that any more. If they were using cookies it would be easy to bypass (just open a 1 pixel frame and load a real web page from the free site so it would write your session cookie). However, I suspect most of them are using Apache servers and the htaccess features of apache to block remote linking.

Remember in junior high when someone would hand you an index card that said"
"How do you keep a dummy busy for hours?"
Turn over...
And it said the same thing on the other side? I'm still flipping the card. And clicking on the link!! Ya got me.
Tony

(I'll keep checking back.)
