Sword? SWORD?!!! Feh! Ignoramuses! It was Victorian revisionists that coined descriptions of Orion's Sword, or worse, Club.
If they had extended the field of view a little, Orion's BOW would have been clearly visible. And he's aiming at Taurus the Bull.
Orion, alias Herne the Hunter, is also alias Robin Hood (properly Robin Wood).
People spent a lot of time cooking up these stories, back in the days before television. But SWORD?! Feh!

Abusive Astronomy by xkcd.
"Be not deceived by the sweet words of proverbial philosophy. Sugar of lead is a poison."
At least Disney hasn't got hold of the legend, yet. Orion would become a monkey or something, and the "sword" would become a tail.Innocent Bystander wrote:Sword? SWORD?!!! Feh! Ignoramuses! It was Victorian revisionists that coined descriptions of Orion's Sword, or worse, Club.
