Whistle photo (I hope) Fipple pic added
If I'm lucky, this is a photo (albeit a poor one) of my new aluminium whistle with the orange peril in the background. Many thanks to all who helped it get here! If it isn't here, I'm sorry - I did try it in the test forum first and it worked there!

Dancer's whistles
Geez Dancer, I'm gonna have to lift my game I think, they look really nice.
Good to see a picture of the orange whistle at last, lairy or what? And I'm impressed with the aluminium one as well, not too shabby for a sheila, and a Pom at that. (Tongue firmly in cheek here).
Keep up the good work mate, you're doing well,
Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for those kind words, Plastiman! Hope you can get back to whistlemaking yourself soon.
Just off to chop up some tubing (not a walking stick - yet - but my husband has some great red walking poles which are EXCEEDINGLY tempting.) Just aluminium this time though, but I was thinking about a plastic top this time. Also want to try a longer beak. What fun.

Whistle fun
That's just it isn't it mate,
It's all just so much FUN!!
I think the thing that got me with whistlemaking was the fact that you can make something that makes a pretty noise for less than the price of a can of soft drink, and only requires VERY basic tools and expertise.
Ya gotta love it,
Cheers,
Ian

Selling Whistles
Dunno about selling your whistles Dancer. I only had a couple of Generations and a Feadog, which are the only whistles you can buy in my town, so resale value is not an issue (they don't have one). The horrible Generation got cut up and experimented with, but the good D and C Gennies and the Feadog get played quite a bit as controls. For some reason they don't sound as bad as I thought at first, and it's valuable to compare them to the ones I make. As long as mine sound better (at least to my ear) then I'm happy.
That's my two bob's worth,
Cya,
Ian
