Whistle Hero III
Whistle Hero III
I keep telling my friends that I'm going to pull apart that fake guitar from Guitar Hero and retrofit the buttons somehow to a whistle.
They think I'm a total dork.
Then I'm going to reprogram the software to replace the classic guitar rock songs with jigs and reels.
It'll be sweet

there's a free, open-source version of Guitar Hero for platforms that run java..it's not as pretty, but you can put whatever songs you like in it, and make your own button combos to go along with the songs.
Hook up a midi wind controller, and you're made in the shade.

Re: Whistle Hero III
Pow, I think that's a cool idea. But first, you have to do a Riverdance Hero one. Make sure and cast it with Flatley with the froufy hairdo (the Irish mullet)...bigpow5 wrote:I keep telling my friends that I'm going to pull apart that fake guitar from Guitar Hero and retrofit the buttons somehow to a whistle.

How do you prepare for the end of the world?

Methinks you're confusing Guitar Hero with Dance Dance Revolution. The Weekenders wrote:Pow, I think that's a cool idea. But first, you have to do a Riverdance Hero one. Make sure and cast it with Flatley with the froufy hairdo (the Irish mullet)...

LOL! That thing looks.... um...... stupid. lol Try this http://fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/ it's free and all you need to do is rip apart your keyboard and fit the buttons to a tube. One problem though where are you going to put the "tounge" key?Wanderer wrote:there's a free, open-source version of Guitar Hero for platforms that run java..it's not as pretty, but you can put whatever songs you like in it, and make your own button combos to go along with the songs.

On some of the "Karaoke Revolution" games that don't detect words, you can play a whistle (if you're in the right key and may need to tweak your tuning) instead of singing.

This talk of Whistle Hero a while back actually got me to experimenting with the distortion effects in garageband - i was fiddling around with my acoustic, making it sound electric in garageband, and was like "WHOA! What's stopping me from electrifying my whistle?" So I recorded tunes on whistle and then distorted them in garageband. Ta-da, instant electric whistle !
I could post some sound samples if people are interested, haha. I actually kind of like the effect, definitely want to play around with it more over winter break. It's definitely a lot to fun to do, I recommend anyone with some kind of audio editing program to play around and have fun with it.
