Lyrics for song "The Leprechaun"
Anybody, it was not a St. Pat's Day song, not a drinking song, it was about what a Leprechaun is and what it does. I got it from a CD from when I was in England. I don't remember the artists, but the CD's were entitled "Celtic Inspirations"

Hi Bard,
Is this the same song?
I saw a leprechaun all dressed in green.
It was the only leprechaun I've ever seen.
He has a pixie turned up nose
And pixie turned up toes.
Oh, I saw a leprechaun all dressed in green.
He was only about as big as my thumb,
He was only about as big as my thumb.
His beard was long & white
I marveled at his height.
He was only about as big as my thumb.
He had buried secret, hidden treasure,
He had buried, secret, hidden treasure.
I couldn't believe my eyes
You can imagine my surprise,
He had buried, secret, hidden treasure.

I think it might be, thanks a lot. I hope you didn't go to too much trouble to find it. I owe you a pint or a whistle.Ceili_whistle_man wrote:Hi Bard,

Glad to be of help, it was the only one that I could think of that I had heard in full.
I know of another Leprechaun song from when I was a child in Ireland, but the words escape me, I know the jist of the song was about how you may see something out the corner of your eye and turn to see what it is, and it has gone. This was supposed to have been a leprechaun playing tricks on you, it was a game the leprechauns played to keep their reflexes sharp. They would try to get you to look towards them and then they would quickly dart out of sight leaving you wondering if you really saw something or not.
