Looks like you had fun!
If anybody wants to see my vacation pictures from the Oregon coast, they are on Webshots at http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/5605 ... t=outdoors And yes, I realize the sea lions are blurry - that's because I followed the rules and didn't use a flash inside Sea Lion Caves.

Oh, dear. I mean what kind of fish (I thought it was obvious that it's a fish)? I have never seen a tail like that.jbarter wrote:It's a fish.Cranberry wrote:What is that?
Sorry Cran, I just couldn't resist it. That's the reply my niece once gave when asked that question while a very similar photo was being taken.

That is a Spanish mackerel. I found out that they are not normally "running" in the fall there, but for some reason there they were this year. I caught several that were quiet a bit larger than the one in the picture. They have very sharp teeth and often cut the line before they were brought in. My husband, who is a fisherman, said he had more fun catching them than any other fish he'd ever caught. They do put up a fight, the rod would sometimes bend almost double and they were hard for me to get in. Add to that, some days sharks would grab them before we could get them out of the water so the result would be only a fish head or half a fish. They were not "keepers" unless they measured at least 12" from the tip of the head to the "V" of the tail.Cranberry wrote:Welcome back!!

- Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.
