Hi All,
A couple weeks ago I was asking about Mando-Bouzoukis. Long story short, I decided to build my own from a kit. I purchased it from Music Makers, and all is going well. However, it doesn't come w/a tailpiece, rather just pins. I'd like to find an inexpensive tailpiece to add to it - so, my questions are: Does anyone have any 1) experience building Irish Bouzoukis, 2) information on purchasing a tailpiece? I've thought of using a mandolin tailpiece, but don't know if that will work, and the person I talked w/at Music Makers wasn't 100% sure either.
Any info would be appreciated!

What do you mean by 'pins'? Do you mean a fixed bridge like a guitar?
If so, the switch to a floating bridge & tailpiece isn't a minor one. The bracing for the top will be very different.

And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

If you're talking about this kit, then a mandolin tailpiece will work fine. They're available from just about everbody, but Elderly has a nice selection at rock bottom prices.

Thanks to both of you.
s1m0n - The pins are smallish tail pins. The kit comes w/ball strings rather than looped. So I also have to get a set of looped strings.
Tim2723 - yes, I am using that kit. I will check w/Elderly for the mando tailpeices.
