It's hard being superman. Give Michael a break. I've heard through the grapevine that Clementine has been grumpy and has been requiring more of his attention. Michael's website makes it obvious that he doesn't have any free time.

Well that would certainly explain it. Few things in this world are more disruptive to the normal flow of life than a disgruntled donkey. Trust me, I know whereof I speak.

Maybe if he did a flute video of "Oh my darlin' Clementine" She'd settle down some. She could sing along in the background.

In fact, it could lead to a whole new project...AnimalsPerformingIrTradMusic.com !

I could certainly contribute some files of my pack of dogs singing along while I play. I can never quite make out whether they're happy or in pain.

Hey, I thought my ears were burning...

You're right, the site needs more flute videos!

I'm hoping to be working with a friend of mine to have her featured on flute videos in the future.

Since I grew up playing silver flute as a kid, when I play any kind of flute it dredges up old emotions, I guess going back to the pressures of solo competitions. I find it tough sometimes to enjoy myself when playing flute. Its really quite odd and makes no rational sense...

Any particular tune(s) you'd like to see on the flute?

Cheers,

Michael

How about a Superman theme for Doug?

And stay away from the kryptonite. :D

You own Clementine? Did you get her from Santa Barbara? I knew of someone who was selling their donkey a while back. Or do people just name their friendly donkeys Clementine?

No, Clem came from a local donkey breeder. Her dad was a regular in the local Christmas pageant.

Here's a photo of Clementine:

Last Spring the neighbors donkeys came to visit for an afternoon. My wife works at the farm down the lane and the animals all love her. When she goes for a walk her pockets bulge with apples, carrots, and dog biscuits. Talk about eccentric.
These two are Rosie and Mia. They'll be having donkettes any day now.

Talk about off topic.

Those pictures remind me of Betsy Trotwood, a character in David Copperfield, who goes into a hizzy when donkeys cross her lawn: "No donkeys! No donkeys! I'll have no donkeys traipsing over my lawn!" Or some such (apologies to Dickens!) Very funny when played by Maggie Smith in a recent filming of the novel. :P
