Holy crap. An octave above a high D whistle...

...Puts a whole new meaning to the idea of a "professional" whistle.

Somehow I'm finding myself wanting one.

Looks like it'd be a real bear to play with any ease, though:

Can't say I care for the tonehole positioning.

Probably works for shooting poison darts, too. (Another valuable office skill).

Dude. You need to learn to fire stuff out of a flute. It's a valuable session skill.

Interesting Huxley quote, Nano. Was that before or after he opened the doors of perception?

Yeah, flute wins on caliber, but whistle has it for stealth.

I honestly don't know. Just found it floating around on the Web, and I thought, Yeah, Huxley. I need to meditate on it; it's probably more profound than it looks.

Each has its purposes. Functionally, a whistle is probably more reliable; flute can be tricky, but when you can get a peanut to sail, look out. :D

Anyone know James Taguay, the maker? A google search reveals several anthologies of flute/whistle music by someone with that name, but no other whistles. Man that little thing is cute!

Someone posted an eBay listing earlier where he was offering up a replica ancient-style bone whistle made from a sheep's leg and based on an achaeological find. Seems he's into arcane specialties.

Ok, I have a feeling that only certain species of dogs can hear the second octave on this thing.
