Overton Signature

Post by gallant_murray »

I just got an Overton low D in the mail (made by Bernard) but the 'Overton' stamp or signature on the back is not at all how I remember them being. First of all, the bottom half of it is cut off. Second, isn't the 2nd 'O' supposed to be larger than the first (overtOn)? Does anyone know if Bernard has a different signing style than Colin? Or maybe they just changed the way they mark their whistles?

Colin also, typically, signs the inside bore at the bottom.

Turns out I remembered wrong. The first O is supposed to larger type than the following letters (which it is on my whistle except half the O is missing). I think it is just due to a hasty stamping. Thanks for the replies. I didn't really think I had gotten duped, I was just being cautious.
