The bright yellow and red-crowned Yariguies brush-finch was found in a remote Colombian cloud forest.

My daughter was in a Panamanian cloud forest in July. Didn't see one of those as far as I know.

I don't think it's a new species. It just didn't know the right people.

Looks like it would make pretty good gumbo. Not so good as owl, maybe, but better than robin, for sure. It would take a lot of them, though.

The "living fossil" mouse was named Mus cypriacus, or the Cypriot mouse.

Looks like about 4 per person would do it if you put 'em in whole and fished the beaks out before serving.
