Bird droppings survive shuttle launch.

Is this a good excuse to give up on washing my car? I think so. If NASA can't get 'em off a shuttle after spraying with 300,000 gallons of water and putting them through an 18,000 mph, violently shaky ride into space, well, what chance do I have with my garden hose and an old rag?

Wow them's pretty resiliant poops. Maybe they need to make the tiles for the next shuttle out of bird droppings.

Oh, yeah . . . the Audubon Society man says you can just hose it off . . . hose it off??? Ha!

Probably seagull.

It's clear he doesn't live in Florida. That stuff hits a superheated surface, dries in the sun, and it's nearly permanent. I've got some on my windshield right now . . . it's lasted through repeated applications of windshield washing fluid and three thunderstorms.

Mark my words . . . after re-entry, they're going to find it's etched the finish, too.

Well, it depends how much you value your car.
Bird droppings can be corrosive, and can strip the paint off. If you don't mind bird-dropping-shaped blobs of bare metal showing through the paintwork, that's pretty much your affair.

Yeah, either make the tiles out of guano, or use it to stick the tiles on.

... especially if they are Love Bugs. Those damned things will seriously damage your paint job if they aren't cleaned off pretty quick after splatting.

I've heard an estimate that a single Canadian Goose poops 3lbs of crap per day.
I know where they can get a LOT of goose poop....... we're on the "flight path" between two cemeteries that have major goose populations. They are VERY good at hitting our white garage door, too.

I'm just waiting for the mulberries to ripen. I'll have to wash my car, then.
