S.Z.B.E. Whistles

Post by canpiper »

How many of you out there have had experiance with S.Z.B.E.'s?

I was just looking at the site and at Wanderers review. They look and sound great, and seem pretty fairly priced. I think they're moving up my wish list. I'm particularly interested in the A, so if anyone has one, I'd be interested in what you think about it.

But I guess you gotta filter out the spambots.

Obviously, I thought the SZBE was a pretty cool whistle. I don't remember who ended up getting it in the last round of horse trading, but at least one other person has had it now and hopefully will chime in with their impressions.

I am now the happy owner of the SZBE that Greg reviewed. It has a reedy tone, not unlike that of an aluminium Syn. It is loud and very precisely made. It's a great deal for the price- around $75 if I remember correctly.

I would imagine the off-set bottom
finger holes would be more of a problem
than a help for anyone using the pipers grip??

I've never used an offset model before, but I've heard they're nice for smaller hands.

Howdy,

I have a brass high D and really like it a lot. I wrote a review about a month ago on the board, so if you search, you should be able find it. The review has pics and a sound clip.

Best,

Dave

I must have missed this. I don't see it on Wanderer's review. In fact, as I recall he said they were nicely centered. ????
