Irish Jam???
Anyone hear anything about this movie? Just got the Lunasa newsletter and they will be on the sound track. Interesting idea, group of villagers have to figure out how to put together a large sum of money in order to save their village from becoming a tourist attractiong I believe. But Eddie Griffith??? That and the title Irish Jam have me a smidge worried. Anyone know anything else?

Irish Jam Premise/Synopsis:
Set in the small community of Belmullet, Ireland which is up to its ears in debt and soon to be sold off to an investor unless the locals can come up with enough money to pay off the creditors. In an effort to raise the funds, they hold a poem-writing contest, offering the local pub as the winning prize. The sleepy town is in for a real surprise when the winner turns out to be Jimmy McDevitt (Griffin), an urban con-artist whose homeboy antics are met with more than a few raised eyebrows.
............
Hmmm. Guinness was doing this for a number of years..."Win an Irish pub contest".

But speaking of Hollywood (HollyWEIRD in my vernacular), the synopsis is written, (again, not by myself, by whoever writes for the website):
The people of Ballygobnabod, Ireland stage a poetry contest, hoping to raise money to save their town from a greedy developer. They offer Finnegan’s, their beloved pub, as the grand prize. Jimmy McDevitt, an L.A. con artist, wins and moves to Ballygobnabod, where he falls in love and learns about friendship, community, and trust.
Imeacht gan teacht ort.
