Robbie Hannan's

Post by Joseph E. Smith »

There are two jigs on Jerry O'Sullivan's Invasion CD (track 2) entitled Robbie Hannan's. I have searched the net for these tunes, and so far haven't turned anything up. Do they go by other titles, and if so, what would those titles be?

These tunes have been haunting me for months now, and I MUST have them. Thanks. :)

The first of these tunes, a great 3-part D mixolydian jig, is played by Robbie on his duet CD with Paddy Glackin "Seidean Si / The Whirlwind." I believe it's called "Dessie O'Connor's" on that recording. Des O'Connor was apparently a talented flute player from Dublin.

It's one of my favorite jigs.

I have Seidean Si, I thought that was a familiar tune... (I'm batting 1,000 here  ).
