As far as I know, Joanie Madden did 3 solo CDs (Whistle in the Wind, Song of the Irish Whistle 1 & 2). I will get them all, eventually, but which should I buy first?

I have all 3 but my favorite is Song of the Irish Whistle 1.

I'll probably take a licking for this, but I thought the Song of the Irish Whistle 1 was boring and overproduced: bland easy-listening. Never bothered to get another JM CD afterwards. I do like her with Cherish the ladies, though.

While your at it, try to get a copy of CTL lead singer Deirdre Connolly's solo CD, "A Song in Turn". If you like CTL at all, you will like this CD. Deirdre is a good singer and whistle player, and a very sweet person to boot!

You'll that Song of the Irish Whistle, both 1 and 2, have stunning renditions of familiar songs on them, in case you want something to inspire your playing.

If you want to go the CTL route, Threads of Time has some haunting whistle tunes on it.

My preference would be Song of the Irish Whistle II first, but all three eventually. I wouldn't actually give up any of them.

I'll agree with Bloomfield that the "Song of the Irish Whistle" CDs are on the over-produced side. What that means is that if you like whistle playing with lots of effects, echo, synthesizer chords in the background, etc., you'll probably like 'em!

"Whistle on the Wind" is more to my taste, ie. less "over-produced".
