Those funky handmade Czech whistles...

A while back there was a thread here about some funky Czech whistles made from a branch of a tree, some of which still have the bark on them. Does anyone recall the thread, and have the link?
I got one of these from Colin Goldie along with an Overton A (anodized bright blue!) as an exchange for a Snakewood D.
Needless to say, the Overton is terrific. I had to get used to the breath pressure required for the second octave, and that all aluminum head really needs warming up, but once I learned to take these factors into account, the whistle is a real gem.
That wooden one (no bark, alas) is amazing. It's in approximately low E, well in tune with itself. It looks, sounds and feels like a Renaissance Tenor recorder, which in my book is not a bad thing. A bit rustic looking, but simply amazing considering that the fellow does not use any power tools at all.

I looked at that thread then tried Colin's link but I got a

" Die Seite wurde nicht gefunden" error. I can figure out what it means but I'm not sure how "gefunden" translates. It's a cool word and I intend on using it right away.

Something like "found." So the site can't be found?
This could easily be slipped into conversations around the home,
as you suggest. eg..."Gefunden your own shoes! I've already gefunded your wallet and your keys!"

Unfortunately the provider we use (domainbox.de) has had problems a couple of months after the page for the "Barky whistles" went online. A lot of information got lost and we are trying to get the page back running with them. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago they also lost half a year of our guestbook entries. When the problems started I did not do any changes but also no new back ups of the guest book so this is lost. I am hoping on them being able to retrieve the data lost, as soon as that is done I will look for a new host, I am with them since May and have had more problems than in the previous seven years. I have the page on my computer though and can bring it back online as soon as I have a solution.

Too bad English has gelosten that particular bit of inflection. It would be cool to be able to say, "You have gescrewn up big time!" Maybe we here at C&F could reintroduce it?

I agree. And as such, I reintroduce it when needed.

Hmmm. My wife says similar things. "If you had geput your stuff where it belongs you wouldn't have gelost it."
