Guess the Celebrity Piper - ENDED - Congrats Chadd!

Post by MarcusR »

Congratulations Chadd!

If I known that it would be this easy I would have covered parts of the photo and revealed it bit by bit.
As Chadd got it after 7 minutes all the fun ended rather quickly. I’m quite impressed
by all of you that got it with such an ease. Myself, I wouldn’t have a clue if it wasn’t for the fact that I
snapped the photo.

Chadd, let me know what CD you want and I’ll try to send it off before the X-mas rush.

*************************************************************
I recall seeing something similar on a game show, guess the secret actress by the contents of her handbag…
Thought it would be fun to see how this would turn out here.

With a slight adaptation for the C&F UP community (Pipe case instead of handbag), here is your chance to show
off your remarkable knowledge about the world of Pipers.

Rules:
1) Only 1 guess each, anything after that, edited, changed etc will be ignored.
2) The first person who reply’s to this post with the correct answer will win a Free CD, (No PM or email).
3) Ojvoj, you can’t participate.

The winner can choose a CD of his/hers choice from this site: www.drone.se
The CD and world wide shipping will be paid by me.
BTW, I’m not connected to Drone Music in any way, just thought it would be nice to promote some Scandinavian stuff.

Clue, It’s not Mr. Spillane (Only Talbert have been allowed close enough to see the inside of his handbag,
I mean pipe case).

Here we go …
Who is the piper that owns this UP set and case?

Image

Obviously, its Cillian Vallelys pipes.

Cheers!

I was gonna say that the signature red bellows pad and cloth gives it away, too.......

Dang, you get home a few minutes late and lose a chance at a free CD! Some of you people must live on this board. :D
I remember both the set and the red fabric from last year's Florida Tionól...I also vote Cillian Vallely (just a little too late).

Ahh, I thought he meant a celebrity who's also a piper! Oops, I was gonna say Peter O'Toole.

Thanks for the contest, Marcus! Sorry if I spoiled the fun. Of course, Joseph would have ruined it 3 minutes later anyway, so let's just say that I sleep well at night. It helped that this is the first set of pipes that I had ever seen played, so it took me all of 5 seconds to recognize the red towel and bellows, and the pickup jack on the chanter. And then there is the Koehler & Quinn C chanter peeking out from underneath the Froment set, and a hint of an aluminum low whistle as well. Elementary, my dear Watson.

I love Scandinavian music and there's some very cool stuff on the Drone website, so I'll take a couple of days to listen to the samples and then get back to you.

Thanks again!
