Mark, thank you! What a boon to the traveller! And Flann O Brien would surely have approved of this enterprising use of technology for the benefit of, you know, the fair sex.
I just typed "Moonee Ponds" - where I once lived for a while (Dame Edna was a neighbour) - into the search engine and found no less than three public conveniences. Could be very useful if I ever return.
I also took note of the phone number of National Continence Helpline. It strikes me that this could be a precious resource to young people in danger of succumbing to the temptations of the flesh.
I don't know why they didn't call it dunnymap.gov.au though. I'm going to suggest to my provincial MP that Québec set up becosseplan.qc.ca. And pissotieresdeparis.fr could prove invaluable to students of urban architecture...

There's also an audio guide to London's public toilets that can be downloaded to an iPod; they call it a pPod:

And did you know there was a British Toilet Association?

One more link: here's my photo of one of the world's great public toilets:

Yes it has been a slow day in the library Susan, today is Rememberance Day in Canada and some have it as a holiday.
Great pic Brad, I think there is no flushing needed in that lew and it is better looking than a bricksh*t house! And I think the pPod is a great idea.
Steve,I think that Dame Edna would approve of having three of them near by.

Actually there are flush toilets inside and they don't empty into the river (I used it myself so can vouch for that), though it sure looks like this was not always the case.MarkB wrote:Great pic Brad, I think there is no flushing needed in that lew and it is better looking than a bricksh*t house! Weird but boring fun fact: When I was growing up, I was the family bathroom rater...every public restroom I visited was assigned a score from 1-10, based on amenities, cleanliness, attractiveness, etc.
I think I assigned my first 10 to a place called "A Restaurant By George,"(which no longer exists) in Nags Head, NC.

The bogs in Harrods are smashing, but I'd avoid the Little Chef on the A303 at Ilminster, the lock on the 3rd cubicle from the left STILL isn't fixed.emmline wrote:Weird but boring fun fact: When I was growing up, I was the family bathroom rater...every public restroom I visited was assigned a score from 1-10, based on amenities, cleanliness, attractiveness, etc.

Me too. Odd to think that, although I've never played one of your whistles, I've shared seats with some of the best of you.jbarter wrote:Hey, I've actually used that one.
