A recorder?!? Jessie, this is close to qualifying as child abuse.

Now, if it had been an oboe it would have been child abuse. Aggravated.

(BTW - she's a real cutie)

Tell us something.: I love Irish music! I am mostly a whistle player but would like to learn more about flutes. I also have a couple older whistles I'd like to sell and maybe pick up a bamboo flute to practice with.

What beautiful blue eyes she has!!!!

Just hope she isn't teething yet and wanting to gnaw on something but if that is a recorder then it's okay!

Lovely picture Jessie!

Nonsense, recorders make excellent teething rings.
As long as the kid doesn't get the idea that she should blow into it.

I second that emotion.
It's amazing looking at the tiny baby in Jessie's avatar, compared to that
beautiful young woman playing the recorder... why soon she'll be majoring in
Renaissance music at Brown. Or Walking. Never remember the order
those go in...

Oh gosh...that smile is worth lining up around the block to see!

I have a couple of recorders and a Generation whistle that served as my daughter's teething rings. They look a bit ragged, but they all still play pretty well.

Well, I've been trying to show some, but unfortunately I have no idea how to get it to work. For now, here's a link to one of the crew, minus Séamus. He hadn't made his debut into the family when that one was taken! :)

I had a tenor recorder with me, at my grandmother's, one time, and my cousin's baby saw it and wanted hold of it, so we let him, and he drooled all over it. It doesn't take them long. When his mother was only four or five, I bought her her first recorder. Years later, she used that same recorder to learn music in school, and went on to play flute.
