Homes of Donegal

Does anyone know where I can get ABC's/dots for this tune? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does it also go by another name? Thanks.

I can find albums by that name, and lists of recordings by various people, but not the score. I guess you're going to have to do it the old fashioned way and learn it by ear. Then you can create an abc and post it on the net for the next person who asks for it. :D

Nice one, Lix. Once I heard the tune I recognized it immediately. I can't imagine needing the dots for such a simple tune. Is this the one you were thinking of, Emmet?:-?

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

I'll bet it is. I know a fellow who sings "The Homes of Donegal" to that same melody.

Nice tune.

Key of C, so that's it! No wonder it wasn't sounding quite right (I'm not long at this, and easily thrown). I'll have to learn it on a C whistle first, then let the flute transpose it to D. Thanks, I couldn't find it anywhere (although I found a lot of real estate brokers!).
