Looking Pretty

Post by SilverStrand »

I wonder when I play the whistle, do I look as gorgeous as Andrea Corr when she plays hers?? :(

-Its very likely you do, for a whistle always accentuates one's beauty, rather like the effect of ketchup on fine cuisine. As an aunt says: "There must be something ketchup doesn't improve, but I haven't found it yet." So it is with whistles.

-I wouldn't look twice at Andrea, but the whistle adds a special dimension to her. She does appear to need a good meal, several in fact. She is cute after all, but if we meet, my first act will be to feed her, and secondly, to find the poor thing a garment with sleeves. -Hungry, poor, ill-clad, playing whistle for a thin stream of alms cast grudgingly from the tight fists of a harsh world- How cruel the vicissitudes of fate!
-Andrea, let me assist you in your time of need.

My dad said that when he was a child, and they'd go to Sunday dinner at his grandparents my great grandfather would put catsup on his food, and then ladle flour gravy over his whole plate, and tsir everything together, and eat it that way.

Great Grandpa was always extolling the virtues of "flawr gravy."

Well, this photo isn't recent...I think she's a bit more meatier then she is here..which is a good thing!

Haha, we should all get pictures and post them of us playing our whistles and we can compare ourselves with Miss Andrea...

I don't have any pics, but once I spotted myself in the mirror while playing...my face looks like a bloated fish!

How does she do it?? Frustrating... :P

Tell us something.: I love Irish music! I am mostly a whistle player but would like to learn more about flutes. I also have a couple older whistles I'd like to sell and maybe pick up a bamboo flute to practice with.

She's way too skinny for sure! If she played anything larger than a C, it might pull her over. She needs a hearty plate of Bangers and Mash and a few pints to put some lovely meat on them bones!

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

You know what, I don't think she plays the Waltons little black anymore. Now it's been the Generations and the Waltons brass
