Lunasa in Troy, NY this Friday!!

Post by brewerpaul »

If you're anywhere within an hour or two, you'll want to be in Troy this friday night to hear Lunasa at Revolution Hall. If that's not enough, know that Rev. Hall is run by and is attached to Brown's Brewing Company (formerly known as Brown and Moran, and Troy Brewpub). These guys make award winning beers and serve terrific food. If that's STILL not enough, the tickets are only $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
Look for the short guy in the Busman Whistles T-shirt...

I remember the thread about there being whistles in Troy, but Lunasa was in the movie as well?

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Pity my car isn't up to the task, otherwise I'd try to be there.

Ya never know... I may just "happen" to have one in my pocket...

I bought my ticket yesterday, and had a look at the hall. It's rather small, which should work out very well for a trad band. Last time I saw Lunasa, it was in a convention center and I had to sit quite far away. Can't wait.

Well, they are also in Hartford on Saturday evening. Don't know the availability of tickets.

Dear Paul and All,

We weren't able to get to the Troy concert on Friday and I was sad. So my sweet husband did a search and found that Lunasa will be playing locally. They will be playing in Connecticut, Saturday night at the University of Hartford - Millard Auditorium. Tickets are $20 a piece.

For tickets online: http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketP ... n_val=3699

If that doesn't work, try the following and then click on order tickets. This is a very badly designed site so finding Lunasa is a challenge:
http://www.hartford.edu/mfac/index.asp --> order tickets

There is at least $3 tacked on per ticket to use the online service but you can also call for tickets to be held at the box office. No extra charge. You just need a credit card: 800-274-8587

See you there...maybe! :)

Peace,
Fran

...and let me add that this is a very nice venue to see a concert. Very small and intimate. I've seen both Lunasa and Flook there.

All the Best,
Tom

Paul,

I just want to thank you for the heads up for Lunasa. My husband and I went to see them yesterday in West Hartford. They were fantastic! It was my first time seeing them and I sat in the 3rd row grinning from ear to ear through two full sets. :D

Inspired and Grateful,
Fran

PS - And you were right, Tom. Millard was a very nice venue. Thanks for the encouragement.

Were you there, Saturday?

Unfortunately, I was not able to go this time. Not to get into this here, but my dad is very ill and our free time has become quite limited recently.

Hopefully I'll get there the next time though.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Tom. Caring for an ill parent can be very stressful and isolating. Be sure to take care of yourself, too.

I hope that his healing journey is swift and filled with grace.

Peace,
Fran
