Hi, i have no idea either, but as a good Brazilian, this never holds me from giving out information. :) I did a search in images.google.com, and came out with this:

Now someone will have to tell us if this is the right Gilles Lehart! :)

Yup, it is.

Gilles (on the biniou) plays and makes binious and bombardes in addition to flutes.

Not sure whether Michael McGoldrick is still playing a Lehart or not but if he is/was it was probably a six- or eight-key...Although the one time I ever saw him play, he had this really dingy looking keyless flute.

Hey there,
This is second hand, but recent, just so you know. A friend of mine (Larry Rone) at our local sesh here in Austin just approached me about this as I play a Lehart flute myself. He brought it up because he typically has his students order Leharts because, as many people believe, they are about teh best flute there is for the money. Anyways, one of his students didn't end up paying for the flute at delivery, so Larry had an extra. Well, he got a call from JMVeillon a couple of weeks back because apparently McGoldrick is looking for anyone with a spare LeHart flute, and JMV and Larry are good friends, etc. Apparently that extra Lehart was sent off to McG. If that's all true and current, he's playing a standard keyless D Lehart. I don't know that Jil makes anything but one model as far as bores go (Ruddall vs. Pratten, etc.).

Photos of the flute Jil built for me are on the fluteporn thread:

McGoldrick played for years several keyless Lehart models ( D, Eb and Bb). A couple of years ago more or less his main D flute become a 8 keyed flute by Michael Grinter.

Tell us something.: in two words, Rudall & Rose. but since a minimum of 100 characters is required, I should list a number of makers I found extremely interesting… I don't even know how much are 100 characters...
