Hernon flute drive?

Post by MarcusR »

Has Marcus lower his prices recently?

http://www.piping.se/Marcus%20Hernon/hernon.htm

Maybe I have mixed things up but I’m pretty sure that he use to charge 460 EUR for a keyless D flute a few months ago. I’ve been about to get one of these since last summer when few friends raved about the flute they tried at summer school. It might be a good time to place an order.

Anyone interested in a M&E flute?

Cheers!

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

No, he raised them (prices) sort of: Originally the 460 Euro included the Cherrywood box (400 Euro for the flute, 60 for the box), now he's separated the items and charging 400 for the flute and 80 for the box.

I think he raised his prices. The 460 euro was for the flute And the case. Now he offers the flute for 400 and the case for 80.

Now that you bring it up, I received my Hernon flute last saturday. I have played it quite some hours already, but don't feel qualified to post a review here yet. I can say though that it looks great and it has a wonderful sound, although I can't get the low D and E sound properly.

I'll post some comments on flute in a few weeks or so.

*edit - Damn Loren, you beat me.

Sounds interesting to hear a review soon ! I ordered a flute from Marcus in january, and hopefully I will get it in may.
How long did you have to wait for it to arrive ?
I currently play on an M&E R&R-model and I hope that Marcus flute
will give some new insights and a good playing experience.

Hello hoed,

Marcus flutes are very powerfull instrument, little hard to fill but when you figure that out you will be reward with a strong and powerful D & E.
Just keep on working and it will come to you.

Hallå MarcusR,

Hur lever livet i Linköping?
Ska du sälja M&E

Hernon har ökat priset på flöjtlådorna pga ökade kostnader på trä

Ha det... vi hörs.

Thanks Loren and Hoed for clearing things up. 400 EUR doesn’t seem much for a nice blackwood flute. Heard nothing but good things about it but would still like to try one out before I place an order. So Pär, if I can try your Hernon flute for a week you can have a go on my Hughes chanter (and break them new reeds in for me :D ) …. Deal ?

Cheers!

Kul att det finns en massa Svenskar här! :)
Jag spelar också en M&E (R&R) flöjt nu och funderar på vad jag ska köpa nu. Kanske en Hernon eller Copley eller DeKeyzer, eller Hamilton :-?
