I'm sad :(

Post by Redwolf »

Someone trashed my car today while it was parked at my daughter's school during the lunch hour (I have yard duty there on Fridays). They took a brick (we found the weapon in the bushes) and bashed the windshield until it started to crack and craze...then they went at the passenger-side door, gouging several deep dings there before finishing up with a few good hard cracks at the roof. I have no idea why...just a random act of violence, I guess  . There goes my new Sweetheart Professional...that money's now going to have to go toward fixing (at least) the windshield.

I just don't understand why someone would do that. I just want to curl up in a little ball and cry.

((((((((hugs))))))) for you Red..... What is wrong with people...that they take such joy in wrecking someone else's property. Know that what comes around, goes around in this world.... Too bad all the hatred they took out on your car was really directed at the hatred they feel for themselves.

Don't worry...something else will happen and you will be able to get your new whistle.

Take care.

Let us know what happens!!

This old world is full of some of the meanest, nastiest people God ever forgot.

I'm sure sorry that happened to you.

Redwolf, that's just . . . awful.

Don't know what else to say - I've never understood this kind of random hooliganism. Some people . . .

Makes me want to wish all the maledictions of "Nell Flaherty's Drake" on them:

May his pig never grunt, may his cat never hunt,
May a ghost always haunt him in the dead of the night,
May his hen never lay, may his ass never bray,
May his coat fly away like an old paper kite;
May the lice and the fleas the wretch ever tease,
May the pinching north breeze make him tremble and shake,
May a four year old bug build a nest in the Iug,

May his cock never crow, may his bellows ne'er blow,
And pisspot or po, may he never have one,
May his cradle not rock, may his box have no lock,
May his wife have no smock to shield her back bone,
May his duck never quack, and his goose turn quite black
And pull down the turf with his long yellow beak.
May scurvy and itch, not depart from the breech,

May his pipe never smoke, may his teapot be broke,
And to add to the joke may his kettle not boil,
May he lay in the bed 'till the moment he's dead
May he always be fed on lob scouse and fish oil,
May he swell with the gout, may his grinders fall out,
May he roar, bawl and shout, with the horrid toothache.
May his temples wear horns, and all his toes corns,

May his spade never dig, may his sow never pig,
Every nit on his head be as large as a snail,
May his house have no thatch and his door have no latch,
Nay his turkey not hatch, may the rats eat his meal,
May every old fairy fiom Cork to Dunleary,
Dip him snug and easy in some pond or lake,
Where the eel and the trout may dine in the snout,

May his dog yelp and growl with hunger and cold,
May his wife always scold 'till his brain goes astray,
May the curse of each hag, that e'er carried a bag,
Alight on his nag till his beard it turns grey,
May monkeys all bite him, and mad-dogs affright him,
And everyone slight him asleep or awake,
May weasels all gnaw him, and jackdaws all claw him,

There. That'll teach 'em.

Audrey,

I am really sorry to hear about your car. :( Just what makes someone do those kinds of things are a wonder to me. I hope they find the person who did this to your car.

A couple of weeks ago during a wrestling match at a local highschool, someone went around and cut all 4 tires on about 60 cars! It was a really nasty winter night and it was 3:00 AM until some of the people got rides home. They haven't caught the people that did this yet but when they do, I am sure that it will cost them $lots$ to pay for the damage.

I hope that you can find the money for your Sweetheart Professional.

~Hugs~

Lots of aspects of life and behavior just make no sense. It will be interesting to see if they ever do from a more transcendent vantage point.

Anyway...stinks to that troglodyte. I second dCrom's lyrics, I just don't wish ill to the perp's dog, since living with that person would be misfortune enough.

True. And often very little to take comfort from when you are a victim of others unreasonable, unfathomable behaviour.....

When my old Dad died last summer he left a letter to me and my brother and sister. One of the the things he said to us in it was:

'Love is the only thing which makes any sense in this funny old world'

I think he's right...

Hope Red gets the whistle sooner than later despite this..

*gives Redwolf a big hug*

I think a little tarring and feathering is in order for the perpetrator.

Redwolf, are you required to carry insurance in your state?

I'm in Florida and I hear if your windshield is cracked you can get it replaced without paying a deductable.

Check with your insurance company, you might get lucky.

Many years ago, a similar thing happened to my car. The cop who came out to take the report surveyed the damage, shook his head, and said with a sigh, "Oh, the heights to which some people will stoop."

Sorry for your trouble, Redwolf. It feels lousy, I know.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

I am sorry to hear about this happening to you as well. Just be assured that God does not forget people, He remembers the good people and the bad. He just does not control our every act and we all have our freedom to do and act as we please. That is where this poor example of self control came from.

I'm so sorry to hear about this Redwolf. I'm sure we all get angry and frustrated, and quite often in hard times. But a lot of us would simply never even consider damaging the property or feelings of someone who has done us no harm. For those of us who feel like this—everyone on this thread by the look of it—this sort of mindless vandalism is as incomprehensible as any act can be. I have absolutely no idea how an act like that could bring anyone pleasure or relief.

I do hope you can restore the car without too much bother and cost. Would normal car insurance cover acts like this?

Oh, they're not even going to bother looking. I can't believe what a waste of time it was calling the police. They sent out someone called a "community relations officer" who basically shrugged and said "there's nothing we can do." When I mentioned the stranger who'd approached me in the parking lot right before I went in for yard duty, she just said "just because you don't know them doesn't mean anything. Anyone can walk through here" (not precisely true, as it's a private parking lot for the church and the school...I know everyone connected with the school, and the church people aren't normally there on Friday), and she wasn't at all interested in getting a description of the person. I insisted that she file a report (she didn't seem too inclined to do that either). What a waste of time! I'm going to have the person who does the school newsletter put in a notice asking if anyone saw anything or anyone unusual today, but I doubt it will do much good. :sniffle:
