I did a Yahoo search for O'Flynn and 'lost album' and Paul Brady popped up having lost songs that O'Flynn played on. Was/is this the work in question?

paul brady was in a version of planxty in the in-between years (after 'cold blow' and before 'after the break') - any lost sessions with liam o'flynn would, i think, relate to this incarnation of planxty which i don't think was ever documented in the form of any recording
the o'flynn recording i'm talking about was released but hasn't been re-issued & hence isn't freely available as are to some degree all liam's other solo recordings

Oh yes, I would love to have this one, too. Some years ago, Tom Aebi taped a selection for me from his original vinyl LP. But unfortunately, the tape recorder didn't fully delete what was recorded before on that tape. Now I have a "tasteful" blend of O'Flynn's with Susan McKeown tracks... :sniffle:

Liam O'Flynn put out a self-titled solo album in 1988. Sony has the rights and has no intentions of re-releasing the album. There are a few accompanied tunes, but by and large a decent solo album if you like his piping. I have a copied version. I don't know who the accompaniests are.

Tunes include:
My Former Wife / Snug in the Blanket
The Beauty Spot/Bean Tincéara
Limerick's Lamentation - on whistle
Alexander's Hornpipe/The Bank of Turf
The Faery Queen - w/ clavinet
Willie Clancy's Reel/The Milliner's Daughter
Shadow on the Hill -w/ harp
The Old Bush/The Dark Girl in Blue
Fraher's/I Buried My Wife/Leg of the Duck - w/ excellent fiddle
Easter Snow
The Drunken Gauger
Seán Ó Duibher a' Ghleanna
King of the Blind - w/clavinet

Anyone interested can PM me.

I have a tape of Liam O'Flynn called Liam O'Flynn distributed by WEA
the tape ref is CLOF 1 and issued in 1988 which I got in Belfast 10 years or more ago.

The cover has a photo of Liam in the middle and top and bottom of cover is light blue.
Liam is joined on the tape by the following.

Sean Keane, Donal Lunny, Catherine Ennis, Micheal O'Suilleabhain, Helen Davies, Ashling Drury-Byrne, John Sheahan, Nollaig Casey, Christy Moore

I am not selling or swaping but I can copy the tape if you like if this is it.

Bye for now
