Overton Low D on eBay

Post by picardy third »

Hey,
I was wondering if any of you English chaps were bidding on the Overton Low D. Can you tell if it is tunable or not? Just wondering.

I stand corrected. I was just flying through eBay and thought I saw a "low" that wasn't there. Sorry for calling this eBay item to forums attention if you are bidding. I'm sorry. Just doing my part to boost the economy. Of course, the recycling of used goods doesn't really boost the economy does it? By the way, how does everyone like my Avantar? I hope I didn't steal any one's signature image. Let me know if I did. I just like poor Sméagol.

You did however see an Overton...drool....
"Do not fear;Zion,let not your hands be weak;
The Lord your God in your midst;
The Mighty One,will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you in His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."

I did see that Overton but I was (am) waiting for the seller to give me an estimated shipping and handling charge. Oh well.

PS..I PMed you a few minutes ago, you can probably ignore it now.

If I have anything, it's not secrets. LOL. It's part of a Tori Amos song.

Tori Amos - The Waitress

So I want to kill this waitress

She's worked here a year longer than I
If I did it fast you know that's an act of kindness

But I believe in peace
I believe in peace Bitch
I believe in peace
I believe in peace
But I believe in peace
I believe in peace Bitch
I believe in peace

I want to kill this waitress
I can't believe this violence in mind
And is her power all in her club sandwich

But I believe in peace
I believe in peace Bitch
I believe in peace
I believe in peace
But I believe in peace
I believe in peace Bitch
I believe in peace

I want to kill this killing wish
They're too many stars and not enough sky
Boys all think she's living kindness
Ask a fellow waitress
Ask a fellow waitress

Are we sure that's really an Overton? Perhaps one made by Bernard and not Colin? Hmmm....

First of all the picture is not very good and from looking at it I am not sure what it is as I cannot identify the mouthpiece. If my eyes are not deceiving me the diameter of the whistle looks too big for the length from what Bernard and I always made. The diameter should be 5/8" or 15.5?mm. You should also ask if it is stamped "Overton" if you want to make sure it really is.
I hope this helps.

Well they emailed me back today and said shipping and handling to the US would be £29-£34, which is too high for me anyway.

I was going to email them back and ask whether it was stamped Overton but I'm sure everybody else here did that and didn't want to flood the inbox with the same question.

I received an email from the whistle seller on ebay saying the whistle is not stamped and that she bought it from a shop in Ireland displayed and sold to her as an Overton. She also sent a photograph of the head from a side angle. It is a Chieftain whistle and not an Overton.

Hope this helps
