Don't let the critics get you down! You do have fans, and not just your whistles! :D
At last someone that can see things the way they are and not how they would like them to be, Its not about whistles its about me being me without the Your a whistle maker stick to beat me with what would folk have, we don't like yer avatars!!!!

But that seems to be par for the course on these boards.
Folks always think I'm only here to sell crap to them and that they are here for fun. wake up an smell the ------- --- I like to have fun too and just because I happen to be a whistle smith it don't make it right to give me a hard time.

Stacey,
I tppk your comments in stride, but when Gary mentjoned it being perhaps PG13 rated, that settles it for me. If it makes one person feel a wee bit uncomfortable, that is always one person too many. I am sure Smoot can come up with something else!

You play a very good thread game.

But I did a search and the term is used a lot in other places that don't have the same history we do but have other history where it is a good word. It's just too bad that "C" and "K" are pronounced the same way.
boy, i sure am slow...i got it just now...
The generic word no doubt has no connotations, good or bad, of itself, divorced from the context of the absurdly racist group, whose 20th Century incarnation, which rose to prominence throughout the United States (and, even into Canada) between the world wars, was apparently sparked by a play and silent movie of this name (spelled with a C, but now better known as The Birth of a Nation). However, it will naturally raise the hairs of most people familiar with the shameful history of crimes against humanity of that organization.

Hey Stacey,
Having followed this thread I feel this is best summed up by Dick Emery

I hasten to add that I, being a Gary, was not the Gary in question.

Indeed, I believe the Gary in question is called Avery, which of course is an entirely different Gary to the one that is me.

Okay, I think I got it. Good one.

Well, Stacey said she was joking and the offended person was only offended because he or she (I guess if this is Gary, the one called Avery, it would be a he) thought someone else was offended, so it seems like really no one has a problem with Stewy's avatar. I know of someone who is 14 who uses the forum, but not of anyone who is 13. It isn't that I have real strong feelings about the avatar itself one way or the other, but I just hate to see someone having a bit of harmless fun not get to keep having it. Whatever you feel is best I'm sure will be fine.

Glad you clarified that, Gary.

As for the rest, I am lost and I intend to stay that way. :)
