Ok, Josh, you're on. I've been meaning to sit down and relearn the tune in F for ages now. I'll do it this week.

OK so far I have the A part licked

The reason that I wanted to learn it in F is because the man wrote it in that key so I figured that I should give it a go. It also makes me grow as a player. There are so many things that I need to work on so i choose this as my next block of instruction

And it's just beautiful in F too. It's a totally different-sounding tune.

I agree. It feels more fling- or march-like, maybe? Me, I keep wanting to play it a bit slower (well, duh, Cat, like I can play it faster right now

?) than the G version, which I can't resist running at like a big spanker flute reel.

F is a GREAT key as is Dminor (F's relativee minor)! Pity it's not used more often for traditional music...

F Tunes I play: John Stephens of Chance Inn, We're Not Fou but We're Gaily Yet (Dminor), Atholl Volunteers, The Silverwells... and a few others.

That's a hard tune in F. Its hard enough in G, it would require great practise for me to master this tune in F. Fair play to anyone who can do it.
