  • woodworking
  • gourmet-style cooking
  • computer programming--yes, I know it's my day job, but I got into it because I did it as a hobby. And I still whip up handy little programs for myself as the mood strikes (like a shopping list on the web that I can access via my cell phone)
  • Brewing--mead and mead-family brews (pyment, cysers, etc). Not so much into brewing beer and wine.
  • martial arts. I took a big hiatus from this when my son was born, but now that he's in a class himself, i'm finding myself training more and more often.
  • comparative religious study
  • reading
  • writing poetry
  • going to renaissance festivals and similar things
  • Video games
I read about these people who say that if they won the lottery they'd just keep on working because they'd be bored. Me, I think I've got enough hobbies to take up a full day ;)

music is a huge hobby - playing, listening, collecting, going to festivals, working at festivals, doing websites for festivals, etc.

crochet, beadwork, and other arts and crafts (no sewing, however). I crochet prayer shawls for cancer patients and hats for newborns for one of our local hospitals.

reading

gardening (although I have too much shade at this house to do so properly)

While it's not really a "hobby" - volunteer work such as Citizens on Patrol and CPOP and Tom's Court Watch.

Cooking-love to cook French Provencal style, slow food, enjoy reading Ruth Richel, MFK Fisher, Anthony Bourdain, etc
Photography- just got back into it via digital SLR. Need to learn about Photoshop and punch up my digital darkroom skills.
Reading- always one or 2 books lying around

Reading - and since my husband owns a used book store I get lots of books for free!
Gardening
Wasting time on the Internet
Maintaining my website
Knitting - but since I usually knit when I watch TV and there's not much worth watching, I don't get a whole lot done.
I like going for long aimless drives in the car - "let's see where this road goes" - but with the price of gas I haven't been able to do much of that lately. Plus I've lived here since 1967 so I've pretty much done all the roads around here.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

What a fun bunch. No wonder Chiff gatherings are almost invariably a good time.

Some favorites of mine:
-singing with little kids (also my profession)
-trying to understand God
-going for long walks with my lovely Mrs. Badger
-planting trees and watching Wyoming kill them
-playing with my goofy but intrepid dog
-trying to entice the local trout to ingest little fake bugs made of feathers and fur
-getting into close proximity to large, wild animals while armed with a bent stick
-confusing my wife's cat (doesn't take much)
Fall down six times. Stand up seven.

Mainly toddler-chasing but every now and then I get to read or play the Sims. Every once in a while I even get to play music.

Music (playing at home, going to gigs, learning new instruments, practicing with the band, moderating a local music website)
Video Games
Cycling when the weather's nice
Drinking
I'd say computers/programming but it's my day job and I can't be bothered when I get home
Used to do martial arts but it takes up too much time that could be spent playing guitar/video games
Cooking. A recent hobby that I love. Everything from scottish dishes like stews and stovies to chili and pad thai.
And Golf.
