Have a gud'en.
I have mixed feelings about birthdays. For some, it is painful when no one remembers. For others, it is a reminder of their own mortality. Some don't like being the center of attention and a big party is worse than no one remembering. Like that thread about things to say at a funeral, nothing will please everyone, and some people will get upset at the most innocuous and most generous of gestures.
A Dutch friend has a good attitude about birthdays. From what I understand, in that culture, birthdays are a full day event. All friends and family that are able to share parts of that day, honoring the life that person has built. Again, this can be painful if the life isn't what was planned, or not many people are in the circle.
I like my birthday. Even if it does come almost a month after Christmas and all the good presents are picked over, and the stores haven't restocked because they haven't done inventory yet.
Congratulations wrote:My 21st birthday is coming up this August. I'm anxious, a little. I mean, I assume being 21 is pretty cool, but when's the next landmark birthday? Once you've hit 16, then 18, then 21... what else is there?
My next big day was my wedding day. Now that's the anniversary we celebrate.
Rose tint my world. Keep me safe from my trouble and pain. 白飞梦
Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Hm. 36 isn't all that different from 21. It just hurts a bit more.

I don't mind birthdays. I don't mind getting older. I love the top shelf bourbon that my grandson gets me (the rest of the year the bottles I get usually proudly proclaim their 3 year aging process). But I hate parties.
Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)
I just turned 31 last Thursday...cry somewhere else Emo boy
28, actually...
thanx to ervvrebodyelse, tho!
