Photos
Good on you Dancer,
Re the photos, I used Imageshack, go to their site, register, and it will tell you how to upload photo's from your computer, once you have done that, it will give you a URL which you can paste into your forum message, so when it comes up on the forum you have the thumbnail size photo you can click on to get the big picture, as per mine an Rustman's thread. You can do the same with soundclips for free on 4Shared I think is the one I used. It's a bit fussy what it will upload from, but fiddle with it and it will work.
Narrowdog, I used my little Yamaha Stagepas 300 PA amp and my $100 Sennheiser vocal mike running into the computer via the stereo record output off the amp to record the clips I posted on the same thread. They were recorded totally straight with no effects on them at all and I was quite happy with the sound. I might make a couple of clips with a bit of chorus and reverb on like I do when playing live,
Best of luck all, Dancer "Show us yer whistle!!!!"
Cheers,
Ian

recording
Hello again Narrowdog
Forgot to mention, I used a Freeware program called Audacity to record on. Just Google it, download and use it. I think you can just plug a mike into the back of the computer, you don't even need to run through an amp. The amp just gives you more options to tweak the sound on the way in,
Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for all the advice. I will now have to spend good whistle time getting annoyed with camera, computer, server etc! I will try, but am not very technically minded! It is VERY orange - wouldn't want to scare you!
And I want to get on with the black narrow bore, and fipple practice, and then a metal one, and I had a great fipple idea at work today - where does the time go? It's still cheaper than WHOA though, mainly because I can use my husband's tools!
Narrowdog, you are welcome to the thread!

Aagh! Camera problem! Spent hours working out
how to upload some photos I already have onto
the server and eventually felt confident. Went to
take picture of the orange peril and camera went
EEEERRRRRRRRR and the lens stuck halfway!!
Can't get it in or out now!! I knew this was a bad
idea - stick to what you can do, I say. I don't call
it the orange peril for nothing! Sorry, folks, you'll
have to wait until I've saved up for a new camera!
And there are other more pressing things needing
my hard earned cash: bills, sand paper, a coping
saw . . .

Nice pics, guys. I love the lines of your beak, Narrowdog.
Devondancer, where in Devon be you? I grew up in Totnes....
Just a picture-posting tip - if you restrict the width of the image to about 650 pixels (700 max), you'll get a nice big, lifesize pic but you won't blast the web-page column open so we have to track across to read the text and see the picture. Some web image hosts let you size the picture on their site or within the linking url, but many don't, so you need to use your own image editing software to set the dimensions in pixels before uploading. (Use the "maintain same proportions" vertical:horizontal ratio option when re-sizing!)
Re: broken camera. Have you or any of your offspring (if any) got a phone-cam? Amazing what you can do with them! All my pics I've posted have been done on mine.

I respect people's privilege to hold their beliefs, whatever those may be (within reason), but respect the beliefs themselves? You gotta be kidding!

Hi Jem
Thanks for the comments about the Low D
Sorry about the size of the pictures but I spent hours figureing out how to upload them,
then when it worked I didn't care how big they were. The next ones I do I'll make em smaller. Thanks for the tip on 650 pixels.
Cheers

Photo hosting
Hi people,
I use Imageshack, as I think I already said, and it appears to automatically size the photo to your screen when you click on the thumbnail in the forum to download it. Don't quote me on that though, as I'm very much a technological moron.
Pity about your camera Dancer, we wait with bated breath.
Cheers,
Ian
