I'll second that. His basic sets but still look lovely. However the workmanship shown is apsolutley brilliant. His pipes are some of the best around. They're incredibly stable.Written By Tony
Mackenzie isn't making sets like this anymore... he's gone back to more expensive ones. Although it isn't fancy, the workmanship on the set is great.
Cheers L42B

Sorry, Josh I did not mean to attack Ian Mackenzie in anyway. I have edited my post (per request). I do believe though that they are some of the best around (my opologise to those who I may have offended).
The set I have sounds wonderfull. I have recommended his sets to countless others. The after sales service has been excellent. It's not unusual for Ian to email me occasionaly asking how the piper and set o'pipes is going.
Sincerely L42B
PS: How could I have said such a thing (eek).

Can't get there, Joseph - too many years have gone by!Joseph E. Smith wrote: Should probably be what?
'Nolite te' is OK, I think, that means to 'refuse to allow yourself'.
An illegitimate person would be 'nothus (nothum)'
Carborundom is a trade name from the 1920's or thereabouts. It just sounds Latin but isn't really.
'Contero (conterere, contrivi, contitum)' is to 'wear away/grind/make weary' which would be the right word, I think.
Trouble is I can't seem to get my head round the necessary declensions and conjugations, if you know what I mean!
To much whistling's sapped my mental powers... I've blown my brains out!

Glad you got a sale. The pipes in reality are probably worth a lot more for what your selling them for Tony. Jack Brennan (friend/piper) said that my set was at least worth AU $6 000 [if not more], I only bought mine for AU$ 4 000. The fact that your (old) pipes is a unique set (if your a collector) adds more value to the instrument.Orriginaly Posted By Tony
