And by the way, they're getting ready to reopen The Old Bookbinders restaurant in a new downtown office building/hotel. Gimme them fried oysters!!! :D

King of Pizza, oh yeah!!!

Reopening the Original Bookbinder's, huh? Hmph, me with the same last name and I never got a free mean there, the nerve. Wish I had a buck for every time someone asked me if I was Bookbinder of Bookbinder's Restaurant, back when I lived in Philly. Geeze, I musta been asked that question 5000 times. They should've frickin' adopted me!

I remember asking you just that same question back on the old message board, when you were kind enough to get me my first (and only) Acorn!

I guess it's true when they say "What goes ariund comes around", hey? That's probably why John Street is the mayor of Philly now!!!

Ah yes, as I recall that Acorn came from what was then Thoroghbred Music ins sunny Cleawater Florida. Unfortunately T-Bred was gobbled up by Sam Ash, so you can imagine what it's like now....

I don't know a thing about Philly politics now, never even heard of the current mayor. Hell, I say bring back Rizzo!!! (Don't thow anything at me, I'm joking of course)

Loren, you're not missing anything as far as Philly politics goes. The former mayor, Ed Rendell (can I sell you a used car?) is now the governor of PA. John Street, the current mayor, is a former Black Panther, and nepotism in his administration runs deep. As for Frank Rizzo, I kinda liked the guy. At least with him everybody knew where they stood! :) His son is now a city councilman. Thatcher Longstreth died the earlier part of this year.

You have the abso;ute right idea - travel the country and settle down where ever seems most suited to you. When you get a permanent address, let me know and I'll send you a months' supply of cheesesteaks and TastyKakes!!!

See ya' at the shore
