Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack Make a new plan, Stan You don't need to be coy, Roy Just get yourself free Hop on the bus, Gus You don't need to discuss much Just drop off the key, Lee And get yourself free
the most professional part of this thread is the first annual flute off between david and john. i am putting my money on david, i have seen him strength train his grip using the "capt. of crush" gripper. yikes.
Sweet, where can I get one of those? Some of my clients are starting to get bored with the with our "Cliffhanger fingertip pull-up board of doom". The "Capt. of Crush" gripper sounds like a perfect progression. Or better yet, the last exercise of a wrist/forearm/circuit. Probably will have 'em start with something easy though, like tearing phone books.

Ah, I see: A brand name for those things that have been around forever. I see they spiffed these up with flashy looking handles. They would go great with the hideous late 80's Miami Vice chrome dumbells we have......

Heh heh, yeah I saw that, up to what, 280 lbs. ? We'll all be crushing our poor flutes in no time. No wonder Cocus goes through flutes like there's no tomorrow
I want that "Captains of Crush" song CD they have.
Dear Berti66,
Before I post any more links that I have chosen please check this out by Dr George Best (don't be put off by his american accent and count yourself lucky he doesn't use any heavy jargon in the full 10 minutes of the helpful video). Particular pay attention to his attempt to contextualise grip strenghthening in an overall intorductory balanced program:-
Now that you have watched that carefully you may appreciate this harmless "yoga exercise" that is done generally (not just for carpal tunnele syndrome as in the title). I have done indian dance in my time and this is done as a general exercise and I have seen musicians do this sort of thing also
seems we are getting distracted a bit but it has developed into an interesting discussion though so I sit back and read along........
still saying I was NOT talking about grip perse, but getting more control on my fingers themselves.......oh and I DO play a lot.......two hours a day.
but somehow that has never solved the problem, as I said earlier on.
seems it's rather subtle when you are talking about developing things, like descriptions given in the last comments above this.
