I've been asking people this question all year

Post by mutepointe »

Time is running out.
If a musical group/person asked you to join their show, who would you join?
The answers to the questions that people have asked all year have been:
1. Whichever musical talent you would need, you would have in abundance.
2. Yes, it's possible to have two lead guitarists and to not disrupt the fabric of the universe.
3. Yes, you may join them in their prime and not in the present. A big factor for those people who would like to have The Who calling.
And here's an answer to a question that folks around here may ask:
1. Yes, a whistle/ocarina/concertina/bagpipes or the instrument of your choice would fit in perfectly with whatever group comes to ask.

You satisfied my only concern in item of concern #1.

So, of course!
One would have to be painfully shy not to want to.

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

Is there a translation? I'm afraid I can't understand a word of the original post.

I got through the first three answers. When it started back at one again, I started needing a nap.

So, Zack Starr got the gig.

Maybe my first post wasn't clear.

Which group/person would you want to ask you?

For example: If your secret wish is to be a member of the Mamas & the Papas, then could you please share that specific nuggest of information with us?

Assuming my agoraphobia wouldn't kick in, I'd join "The Bottom Line", which is a group out of my local folk club. Or maybe "August List", ditto. Failing that, "the Bonzos".

Thank you for understanding the thread. I'm listening to August List right now. The guy sounds serious. The lady sounds pretty.

I would join some other rival group, just to make them insanely jealous. It's called leverage. It's also a good strategy if you want to end up moderating the Chiffboard instead of touring with Solas.

I think the Allman Brothers (two drummers, too) or Derek and the Dominoes may have disrupted the fabric of the universe, but probably not the Atlanta Rhythm Section or other dual-lead-guitar groups since.

I don't think I'd join any band. I'm too happy with my own life, no servants or roadies or nuthin'.

Martin's Guitarring is serious. Kerralee is quite as pretty as her voice, which is saying something.
Now you've heard them you will understand the bemusement with which we learned the following.
When they turned up for their first informal recording session, they handed over a CD saying "This is the kind of sound we want to achieve."
It was grunge-garage. :o

If I got paid, yes I would join. And I'd quit my job.

Can you add another one to your list: The group never has to play later than my bedtime.

In real life, I got all serious answers and so many of them were surprising. At the Thanksgiving luncheoun at work, the quiet woman who organizes these events and has kids and loves dogs immediately responded "Mettalica". The black middle aged male librarian who is in a Doo Wop group wants to join Christine Aguilara. One friend just wanted to be a dancer with Janet Jackson back when she was buff. One friend didn't care which symphony hired her and which instrument she got to play. Folks were all over the place.

I thought as musicians already, you folks would have more to say.
