The latest from Kirk Lynch's workshop:

Left handed chanter with stop key delivered October 5, 2010.

Of course the pictures really don't do justice to Kirk's gorgeous work...and since pipes are about more than just pretty pictures, here's a sound clip (I can't play very well yet so this certainly won't do his work justice either!) http://www.box.net/shared/yixhqmltyp

Richard Patkós has just sent me pictures of my new regulators! The materials are plumwood, boxwood and brass. Can't wait to start learning to play them :)

Beautiful keys, what type of wood is that for the mounts. Never seen it before.

Looks like purpleheart - (needs exposure to sunlight to turn purple)

Hello,

Thanks for comment about keys. Thomas realy made superb work, all I hoped for in every way and more. The first Concert chanter which realy impresed me in workmanship and tone at the same time. I am very sad of my crazy life, since I don't have time these days/weeks/months ... :( to explore this amazing work - real shame, but it's more like sexy precious stick on the wall to touch and play at rare opurtunities. But probably the only Concert chanter I would ever love to have. I hope it will stay with me until I find time to practice again.

The wood I gave to Thomas for mounts is maple I got from Canada, blue acrylic stabilized, becouse I always missed maple and blue color in Uilleann world :) AA
