Re: vPipes Update
You know, I was just thinking "Now wouldn't a set of V-Pipes be just the thing for poor stricken Uilliam, whiling away his time in convalescence ..."
Looks like you're remaining pretty well-entertained without them, though! Just keep them out of your nose.
Thanks for the update and glad you're on the road to recovery.

Get well, Uilliam. It's too quiet around here and we're overdue a bit of a stir-up!

Re: vPipes Update
I want me some Vpipes. I wonder when they'll start producing round two!

Re: vPipes Update
I was wondering about the name Vpipes. V for Virtual I suppose. But what in the name ties them to the Uilleann pipes? Nothing really. So wouldn't V'Uilleann pipes be better?
That way we can call those who play them V'uilleanns.

Re: vPipes Update
About £1250 in Europe
so about half the cost of a conventional half set. But, you can play them all night while the family sleeps in the next room

Re: vPipes Update
Actually, now that I look closer at the pictured digits, I think dear Uilliam is demonstrating a set of wPipes.

Re: vPipes Update
It just occurred to me that the term "sean-nós" can now be applied as a category of uilleann pipes.

- Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

Yeah, but (much) more than a fully playable half set by Mr Daye, at least if you order parts of it in kits. And nb, the stated price on their web site is 1290 euros which is Br £1054 (taxes not included)
But I agree it is really a new world as to practicing when you can play (almost) wherever you are.
