A funny thing happened on the way to the forum!
I used to live in Nashville, but I moved back to New York 8 years ago. I hadn't been back, but this weekend we are in Nashville for a crafts show I used to do when I lived here. Dan and I brought all 3 kids. I was expecting to run into people I knew when I lived here. But who did I run into?
In the hotel lobby to get my kids some candy (bribes), I looked up and saw a face I had seen only online for over a decade. DALE WISELY, here for a wedding! What a wonderful and strange coincidence!

Wow, Dale is much, much better-looking than I thought. But who's the big ugly guy?

An almost shocking sensation to actually see them, isn't it? They really do exist.....

Good thing you didn't recognize me. I would have had to have killed you. I'm getting so tired of killing Chiffers.

You just made my day, Jessie. I truly miss your unique posts... Dale, as always, looks dapper.
Your thread heading may just be in the running for cleverest of the year.
Stay well. Best to you and your family.

PS Our new band is releasing a live CD in a few weeks. You liked our old band's last studio effort, although I think you playfully mocked our tempo on Banish Misfortune by saying that it could provide good lullaby material... Heh. Heh. We retain all of our whistles, fiddle, twin hammer dulcimers, etc., and have added viola and cello - plus 4 vocals to the mix. If you are interested, let me have your e-mail in a PM, and I will send you a track or two.

Good to see the original cutiepie again.
I had no idea you'd had a third! Did you
remember to get the bribes after such
a surprise?

What fun that was. I can't believe Jessie recognized me. She said I have a distinctive face. I don't know, but I have a really large face. Maybe that was it. And, looking at the photo (taken, by the way, by Mrs. Undisputed), I can understand why my doctor insists I need to lose 10 lbs.
Ahem.
Anyway, it was great to catch up with Jessie. We got an astounding amount of gossiping about chiffers done in just a short visit.

Or it's a commentary about Jessie's children eating candy.....or a commentary on Dale's channelling of the Buddha..... or some even more profound concept that Talasiga is loath to fully share.Nanohedron wrote:And that, people, is what in the vernacular is called an "Oops. Wrong thread."

I think I know what talasiga's concerns were, and if I am right about them they are worth consideration. With any luck we shall continue that conversation elsewhere and anon.
So, c'mon. Fork it over, already.Dale wrote:We got an astounding amount of gossiping about chiffers done in just a short visit.

Dale, I was kicking myself for not asking if you and Marilyn would be around later for dinner or something. But it sure WAS a fun little conversation in 100 degree weather (or something like that). I've been giggling about it ever since. I mean, seriously, how cool!
