Tell us something.: Pipes have become my main instrument, but I still play the flute. I have emerged from the "instrument acquisition" phase, and am now down to one full set of pipes (Gordon Galloway), and one flute (Hudson Siccama).

FS blackwood 8 key Aebi

Post by flutefry »

Unanticipated flute acquisition means I have to sell a lovely flute by Tom Aebi. It's his new model that combines the harmonically rich tone of Rudallesque flutes with the volume and punch of Prattenesque flutes, in blackwood, with 8 silver keys (C and C# with pewter plugs). Beautiful keywork with artfully slanted touches for short F, G# and Bb keys. Medium large holes (F# about 10.4mm), medium bore. Harmonically rich tone in both octaves, and plays easily through the entire 3rd octave. I waited over two years, so it's a chance to get a great flute with no wait.

Please PM/e-mail me for details. Asking $4000.00 OBO.

Some recent threads on his new flutes:

Tell us something.: in two words, Rudall & Rose. but since a minimum of 100 characters is required, I should list a number of makers I found extremely interesting… I don't even know how much are 100 characters...

Very good photos are available on the web page: www.aebi-flutes.com/index.php?lang=en under the tab for D flutes, Rudall models.

Cheers,
