I've always identified with Hank McCoy. Both geeks in various ways, both corporally larger than the average person, excelled academically and in sports (Hank played football, I played hockey), loners in many ways despite being surrounded by people like ourselves.

I think Beast and I would get along well...

I grew up with this show and comic book being my favorite. My all time favorite X-Men was always Colossus. How cool would it be to have a guy that turns into indestructible steel? Image

Although Nightcrawler might be the more useful one. It would be nice to just teleport anywhere.

I have a horseshoe kidney. I would be afraid to go into the X-men cosmos for fear of what my mutant talent might be.

I am totally ignorant of the X-Men world, too.

That being said, I choose Storm. :P

Okay, given the enlightened gender-inclusive membership of that doughty bunch, I'm gonna be the wet blanket and ask the obvious:

Why aren't they called The X-Persons?

Discuss.

I'd want to be buds with Nightcrawler. Can you imagine the convenience of teleportation? I could hit up daily sessions all over the world!

(although to be completely fair to the geek inside me, Nightcrawler could only teleport as far as he could see. It wasn't really possible for him to go from Alabama to Dublin, for example, in one quick jump.)
