Precisely, one way or the other. That's why stating facts is fine, and alerting everyone to a problem is fine. I trust people are smart enough to draw conclusions. But making unqualified accusations is not, when it involves using words with real world legal implications like scam - or fraud, crook, thief, rip-off etc. Not unless someone's prepared to pay Dale's legal fees for the privilege.

Factual info:

The completed listing was in violation of eBay policy, offering USPS Media Mail on a non-media item.

Payment according to Radcliffe was requested by the Send Money function directly to a PayPal email address (not necessarily associated with the eBay account), rather than via PayPal through the eBay system. This can remove certain PayPal buyer protection that would otherwise normally apply to an eBay purchase.

This seller has also now listed a Monzani/Hill flute at
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0591101547
Also in violation of eBay policy regarding shipping.

The Monzani serial # is from the flute illustrated on Rick Wilson's site:

Thanks, Kevin.

And Radcliffe and I had a very good exchange via PM, so I think we are all on the same page now.

Tell us something.: in two words, Rudall & Rose. but since a minimum of 100 characters is required, I should list a number of makers I found extremely interesting… I don't even know how much are 100 characters...

Thank you MrGuru,
your work is very much appreciated!!

the seller is now involved in a very long journey to Georgia by car.
it will take one month....
but fortunatly he can add new flutes on sale from his car...(well, so it seems!)
I've reported the situation to ebay yesterday, and I'd like to say that
the EBAY LIVE CHAT is a very very useful tool!
Ebay advice STRONGLY not to send any payment! (so this let me think that the
paypal's protection systems may not be SO powerful..., but who knows...)

I think that nothing is going to happen from now on, just ebay's routine on possible scammers.
So, please, always double check before send your precious money to
not verificated people!

bye!

Thankfully, they've learned how to post pictures to their auctions, in the instance of this Rickenbacker 12-string.

I'll have to guess that Radcliffe is the one who gave Negative feedback for the seller, pushing the feedback to -1.

Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
It's dizzying, the possibilities. Ashes, Ashes all fall down.
