Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

This is the kind of thing I recommend consistently to folk in your position. Forget the keyless, even ones by top makers, unless you are sure you won't want to go keyed in the future. Far better to start off with the keys as early as possible. Yes, you will likely want to upgrade from a flute like the one I've linked as you progress, but it will help, not hinder you in that progression.

@ Denny: the "o" in "box" doesn't rhyme with the last syllable of "colour" even in its Yank mis-spelled and Yankishly pronounced version! That a good enough reason for you?

Ah, we ALL make mistakes! :tomato: It's picking each other up on 'em that's half the fun....... excepting of course in the case of posts/posters that are so larded with errors that it just ain't worth the effort 'cos the perpetrator wouldn't understand even if you could be bothered pointing 'em all out, leave alone correcting 'em........ :boggle:

Yeah, always a day late & a $ short. Just skipping through the thread being lazy like usual. And no Flute beard right now. Shaved it off a few years back.
