Very funny stuff!

a la SNL's Rob Shnieder:
"These flute beards are hand crafted by tibetian sherpas from the fleece of newborne kids of rare diminutive breed of llama during a ceremony that only is celebrated once every 22years, commemorating the conjunction of sunspots with the crest of mt everest at dawn on the morning of the summer solstice.... you put yer weed in it."
There's and old Irish saying that says pretty much anything you want it to.

Heh heh, I'd have to say that this is the funniest thing I can think of in 30 or so years of fluting. Well done!

There is almost a precedent for it though. One of the famous 19th century concert performers claimed to have come up with an improvement to the foot of the flute, but was reluctant to let other players see the nature of it and thus lose his advantage. So he appeared on stage with the foot disguised from the audience by a little curtain suspended on the end of the flute.

A lot of new fluters here won't have seen this before, and are probably wondering why they're struggling to get that optimum tone.

Plus, I'm hoping the Flute Beard company is back on its feet after last year's financial reversals; I haven't seen any liquidation stock on eBay over the last year... are they hoarding?

In my opinion this is by far one of the best threads ever on C&F!
It's just plain brilliant !

...sigh... By the time mine arrived, some 4.5 years post order... it was moth-eaten and one of the clips had been broken, doubtless related to the "Vibram" cleat imprints in dull gray on that portion of the packing box. Alas, I guess I must forgo the flute altogether now.

Perhaps a litte moustache adhesive?

If any thread deserves resurrection, it's this one. Have I mentioned that it's my all-time favorite?
